Before Movies, Superheroes Were in Comic Books
With the huge box office success of The Avengers, the recent release of Iron Man 3 and the upcoming release of Man of Steel, which stars Henry Cavill as Superman, movies about superheroes continue to be popular with filmmakers and filmgoers alike.
Superheroes, however, were usually first featured in the comic book or graphic novel medium. A great thing about superheroes in comics or graphic novels is that their stories are often continued, reimagined and/or retold, with new issues about iconic characters still being produced today.
