The Fault in our Stars: Review
Some of you might know of him as John Green of the VlogBrothers on YouTube, but did you know that he is also the award winning author of The Fault in our Stars, Paper Towns , Looking for Alaska, and so many other great books?
The Fault in our Stars tells the story of Hazel, a girl who had stage four Thyroid cancer, but for some sort of medical miracle is still alive. Instead of simply being depressing, as most cancer books are, John Green shows how you can still be yourself, be brave, and travel to Amsterdam with the love of your life even when things looks bleak. Hazel Grace meets Augustus Waters in the "Literal Heart of Jesus" (her name for the church in which the cancer support group is held), and much to her surprise, the gorgeous boy seems to like her.
Life goes on and the two become fast friends...and then more. They bond through the love of the video game Counterinsurgence 2: The Price of Dawn, and An Imperial Affliction (a book written by Peter Van Houten, of whom you will learn more about if you read the book). These two are old souls and have gone through so much, but in times of hardship and in good times, they always find things to laugh about.
I urge you to read this beautiful book. It is full of surprises that will make you both laugh and cry throughout the entire thing (underlining the crying part). This book will change your life.
