It Gets Better

Photo of Dan Savage by ALA - The American Library AssociationDan Savage, advice columnist and author, founded the It Gets Better Project to raise awareness that everyone--gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual, straight--deserves to be respected for who they are. This powerful project was created in response to last fall's tragic suicides of five gay teens who experienced bullying, discrimination, and abuse on a daily basis at the hands of their peers.

The Gets Better Project is a collection of over 10,000 videos from celebrities, politicians, and everyday people--gay and straight--who have led happy and fulfilling lives despite the discrimination they endured at the hands of ignorant people. Get started with a video of Dan Savage

Get Help

The website also features resources for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and questing teens to get help from a safe and caring support system.

Become a Part of It
Another great part of the It Gets Better Project is that you can contribute to it by submitting your own video or written testimonial to show support for those who need it.
